• Nutritional counselling

In order to make great changes to our health, we need to consider what fuel we are putting into our bodies every day. The struggles we have with health, coupled with genetic factors mean that eating a certain way is not right for every person. A comprehensive assessment of your diet may be done to help balance your macronutrients for your specific needs, and ensure we are getting the right micronutrients for healing and recovery. Diets can be tailored to help with a variety of factors such as:

  • Athletic performance
  • Tissue/wound healing
  • Diabetes/Metabolic Syndrome/PCOS
  • Autoimmune disease
  • Digestive issues
  • Allergies or sensitivities
  • Hormone balancing
  • Brain Health
  • Vegan/Vegetarian
  • Preconception/Pregnancy

FAQ

I really don’t want to make any changes to my diet, will this actually help me?

Yes, it is well known that a healthy, balanced diet can help prevent certain diseases. Depending on what condition, how our immune system works, and how well our digestion is functioning, several different things can be the reason for ill health, but we need to be putting the best fuel in our body in order for us to do our best work.

I’ve hearth Naturopathic Doctors put their patients on hundreds of dollars of supplements, is this true?

No, this is not accurate. Some supplementation may be necessary, but it is not a permanent solution and ideally we want to achieve majority of our results from lifestyle changes.

Why do some diets work for some and not for others?

Each person is unique, their heritage and genetics play a huge role in how one responds to certain foods. Not every diet is right for one person, and not every therapeutic diet is right for one person as it depends on the scale of disease and other factors.

I heard Naturopathic Doctors restrict their patients eating, and everyone goes on a gluten free diet.

No, this is no accurate. However, what we ingest is an integral part of what fuels our body and runs several important processes. Due to our genetics, the environment, and what conditions present themselves, certain foods will be more beneficial and certain foods will be more harmful to your health, and this may include gluten. If your digestive system is not functioning properly we may eliminate some foods for a time in order to heal the system, but this is only temporary.
