• Christina Boonzaayer, MC, RCC

Christina takes an integrative approach in her practice in order to provide a client-centred and culturally inclusive environment for clients to thrive. Her goal in sessions is to build a warm, compassionate, non-judgemental, and safe environment for clients to express their true selves.

Christina incorporates aspects of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, Solution-Focused Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, Trauma Therapy, and areas of Psychoanalysis into her practice to ensure she meets the needs of each unique client (although this is not an exhaustive list).

She enjoys playing soccer and have been known to run a few half marathons as well. As an elite athlete she has a complex understanding the pressures and stressors individuals are exposed to and how they can impact performance. Due to this personal experience, she works with many athletes struggling through injury, trauma, performance setbacks, mental blocks, and support them in elevating their performance to the next level.

Christina is able to work with a wide range of presenting problems, ages, cultures, and backgrounds. She supports families and couples struggling to navigate healthy communication and boundaries. As a Mom, she also has experience in working through prenatal and postpartum depression and anxiety.

Reaching out for support can be scary due to judgement and stigma surrounding the concept of mental health. There is also a lack of resources available, so many individuals may not even know where to start. If you are curious about services, Christina offers a complimentary 30-minute consultation to answer any questions – and ultimately determine if you think we are a good fit!
