• Noel Roy

After completing his degree in music performance, Noel realized he needed somewhere to focus all the energy previously dedicated to his studies. Intrigued by a story he heard on the radio about trail-ultramarathons, he impulsively decided that this was the sport for him. However, with no major previous running experience, he made the common mistake of training too much, too soon, leading to a series of injuries. Through working with a physiotherapist he was able to overcome these setbacks and has since been able to finish dozens of races and run for many years injury-free. This experience led to an interest in understanding injury prevention and rehabilitation, which ultimately led him to pursue a Master’s in Physiotherapy at the University of British Columbia.

Noel has a passion for helping people recover function, whether that is getting them back to work or helping them finish their first race. His treatment focuses on empowering patients through helping them understand their injury, how to manage their pain, and teaching them exercises they can use to become more robust and resilient so they can return to their normal life without fear of reinjury. As a strong proponent of evidence-based care, Noel stays current with the latest research in physiotherapy, strength and conditioning, and sports medicine.

On his days off, Noel likes to keep busy playing tennis, kayaking, and most of all, trail running with his wife and doggo.
